Initiated by the Rotary Club of Casablanca, this event is part of the Rotary Club's cultural action plan, aiming to promote culture and education within the community, strengthen social ties, and promote human and civic values.
Marked by the presence of, among others, the Governor of the Casablanca-Anfa Prefecture, Mr. Aziz Dades, several Rotarians, and other eminent personalities, this cultural event is part of a series of actions aimed at improving the living conditions of young people and encouraging their development.
Throughout the evening, Mr. Ben Yahya captivated the audience by reading excerpts from his collection "Patch-words II: Love in Verse", a work that explores the multiple dimensions of love, blending emotions, reflections, and poetic beauty through poignant verses.
"Poetry is a universal language, a bridge between souls and hearts. Through this collection, I wanted to explore love in all its forms, a feeling that unites and transcends us all. I am honoured to be able to share this work tonight, in such an enriching and inspiring setting," emphasised Mr. Ben Yahya, who is also a project manager at the Royal Cabinet.
In his speech on this occasion, he noted that "this cultural and artistic meeting is a precious opportunity to reaffirm that poetry, far beyond words, is a universal art capable of transcending time, eras, and cultural borders. It allows us to touch the deepest aspects of the human soul: love, memory, and the quest for meaning".
"On this occasion, I wish to remind everyone that, even through trials, poetry offers us a form of resistance and a path to reconciliation with ourselves and with the world around us," affirmed Mr. Ben Yahya.
For his part, Ahmed Benmejdoub, advisor to the President of the Rotary Club, welcomed the holding of this cultural meeting, "which is fully in line with our communication and cultural action plan". According to him, it is "an opportunity to strengthen our mission of solidarity and to promote culture, while contributing to concrete actions for the well-being of the community".
Mr. Benmejdoub highlighted the importance of these cultural events in strengthening social ties and consolidating educational actions in the region: "This evening is a perfect example of what we want to achieve at the Rotary Club, combining culture, solidarity, and support for education. We are proud to be able to offer these moments of sharing and reflection, while contributing to concrete actions to improve the lives of children and young people".
The evening concluded with a book signing session for Mr. Ben Yahya's collection, allowing participants to interact with the author and extend this exceptional cultural moment.
It should be noted that this poetry evening was preceded by a vision screening action carried out by the Rotary Club at a school in the region, "Ecole Ibn Katir", where more than 200 children were examined and nearly 50 children received glasses to improve their visual comfort and their ability to read and study.
Rotary is an association of local actors from business, academic, and professional backgrounds who are dedicated to humanitarian action and observe rules of high integrity in the exercise of any profession, as well as understanding between peoples.
