The 2nd edition of the HSK Exhibition on Studies in China and Employment Opportunities opened on Sunday at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Casablanca.
Organized by the Confucius Institute of Hassan II University of Casablanca, in partnership with the Hankao International center, Chinese Testing International (CTI), and the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Chinese Ministry of Education, this exhibition offers an exceptional opportunity for young Moroccan students to obtain detailed information on the curricula offered and the registration procedures for studying in China.
The event, whose opening ceremony took place in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Morocco, Li Changlin, and Houssine Azeddoug, President of Hassan II University of Casablanca, aims to promote excellence programs for studies in China and to build educational and cultural bridges between the two countries, as well as to foster academic exchanges, encourage innovation, and strengthen friendship between the two nations, reports MAP.
Speaking on this occasion, the Chinese Ambassador to Morocco emphasized that this edition is being held in a context of flourishing human, cultural, and educational exchanges between the Kingdom of Morocco and China, highlighting the sustained momentum of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the automotive industry and renewable energy sectors.
In order to consolidate these promising cooperation prospects, Mr. Li Changlin estimated that young Moroccans and Chinese must be able to exchange their ideas and benefit from study and training opportunities. "These young people represent the future of cooperation between our two countries," he continued, noting that the enthusiasm for studies in China is explained by the establishment of several Chinese companies in Morocco, which are looking for young people who master the Chinese language, but also the culture of this Asian country.
For his part, Mr. Azeddoug explained that the organization of this fair reflects the University's strong commitment to strengthening academic ties and cultural exchanges between Morocco and China, by opening new prospects for collaboration between higher education institutions in both countries.
Recalling the signing over the last two years of several memoranda of understanding between Hassan II University and a dozen Chinese universities, Mr. Azeddoug noted the growing interest of young Moroccans in learning the Chinese language, with the Confucius Institute having recorded a 20% increase in the number of registrations for the 2024/2025 year compared to the previous year.
He indicated that the universities participating in the fair offer academic programs covering a wide range of disciplines, including science, engineering, management, law, economics, literature, and education sciences, emphasizing that these universities are among the best institutions in the country and occupy advanced rankings globally in fields such as computer science, life sciences, energy development, and environmental sciences.
