In this regard, various security elements in Casablanca have been placed on high alert to ensure the safety of citizens and protect their property throughout the New Year's Eve celebrations, as part of efforts aimed at maintaining security and enhancing peace and tranquillity in the city.
These security measures, which are part of a proactive strategy, involve the mobilisation of all security personnel and their deployment across various axes and traffic circles in the economic capital, particularly near public institutions and vital economic and social facilities in the city.
These measures also include intensifying patrol rounds in various neighbourhoods and streets of Casablanca and setting up numerous judicial checkpoints to secure traffic and movement, protect the lives and property of citizens, prevent crimes, and strengthen the sense of security among the city's residents and visitors.
In a speech on this occasion, the Prefect of Police of Casablanca, Abdellah El Ouardi, stressed that accompanying the New Year's celebrations requires vigilance, seriousness, selflessness, and further efforts to maintain the security and safety of male and female citizens.
He highlighted that security forces and logistical resources have been placed at the disposal of the Casablanca Prefecture of Police to contribute to effective deployment and a strong presence of security elements, ensuring a rapid and effective response to anyone who violates the law.
For his part, the Deputy Prefect of Police of Casablanca, Controller General El Habib El Kharraf, stated that in the context of the New Year's celebrations, the Casablanca Prefecture of Police, like other police prefectures in the Kingdom, has prepared a comprehensive and rigorous action plan to manage the orderly conduct of this day, in implementation of the strategy of the General Directorate of National Security, so that this occasion passes in the best conditions.
Mr. El Kharraf added, in a statement to the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), that the Casablanca Prefecture of Police has mobilised all its services and security components (public security, judicial police, general intelligence, etc.) to ensure good deployment across all axes under the jurisdiction of the Prefecture of Police, as well as to activate preventive and repressive roles at the level of all security districts in this prefecture.
