The Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication is organising the second edition of the International Children and Youth Book Fair at the Anfa Park space in Casablanca, starting from Saturday, 14 December, until Sunday, 22 December 2024..
A statement from the Ministry noted that this edition, organised under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, will see the participation of 29 countries, represented by a total of 340 publishing houses, including 85 publishing houses participating directly, while Wallonia-Brussels (Belgium) will be the guest of honour.
According to the same source, the edition will also feature an intensive and varied cultural programme, with 7 animation spaces within the exhibition halls hosting a total of 405 workshops, averaging 45 workshops per day.
Meanwhile, four other event spaces will host 66 cultural activities benefiting young authors and illustrators looking to integrate into the children's and youth book industry, “with a view to preparing a generation of Moroccan creators capable of establishing a Moroccan platform for the children's book industry, in terms of writing, illustration, and artistic direction.”
According to the statement, the programme consists of sessions in the form of seminars, workshops, and training meetings, in addition to a special programme for Ministry of National Education staff in the field of school library management, as well as a series of awareness-raising programmes organised by participating institutions within their stands.
The organisation of this edition comes to consolidate the positive impact achieved by the first edition and its contribution to enhancing the cultural offering of the city of Casablanca.
