A business incubator was created last Tuesday in Tetouan to support young entrepreneurs and project leaders.

This initiative, which is the result of a partnership between the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of the Tetouan wilaya, the Agency for the Development of the Northern Provinces, the Abdelmalek Essaadi University, and the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC), aims to encourage successful initiatives and a sense of creativity and innovation, promote self-employment, support scientific research, and accompany project leaders. In a statement to the MAP, the president of the Abdelmalek Essaadi University, Hodaifa Ameziane, stressed that the creation of this business incubator reflects, on the one hand, the university's openness to its socio-economic environment and its desire to link training to the job market, and on the other hand, the valorization of scientific research, the accompaniment of students in the realization of their projects, and the promotion of the culture of entrepreneurship among young people.

The academic thus indicated that this initiative, which also falls within the framework of the university's development project and the promotion of academic and scientific excellence, should make it possible to meet the challenges of development at the regional and national levels, accompany the development dynamic that the Tangier-Tetouan region is experiencing today, improve the university's profitability, follow the professional integration of graduates, and encourage student-researchers to create and innovate.

For his part, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services, Abdellatif Afilal, stressed that this business incubator was created as an institution under the Higher School of Commerce, created recently by the Chamber of Commerce, noting that this entity will receive the files of young entrepreneurs among the graduates of the university and training establishments wishing to create their businesses, by allowing them to benefit from the services granted by this incubator, which aims to be an intermediary between project leaders and financiers.

The official, in this sense, assured that the Chamber of Commerce will work, through this business incubator and the services that fall under it, to highlight feasible project ideas to funding organizations, noting that the beneficiaries of the services of the said incubator will benefit from training and internships on the techniques of business creation and management, in order to succeed in their projects, advance local and national economic development indicators, and reduce unemployment. For the management of this business incubator, a partnership agreement had been signed last March between the Abdelmalek Essaadi University and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of the Tetouan wilaya, on the occasion of the prize-giving ceremony for invention to students and teacher-researchers within the framework of the "Business challenge 2015" competition.
