This cultural and artistic event offers conferences, workshops, screenings, and meetings in several parts of the city, focusing on the role of women in a new Moroccan society concerned with equal rights and thirsty for culture.
Among other things, the festival aims to create a platform for artistic exchange between the young creative scene of Tangier, local artists from the Rhône-Alpes region, and international artists in the fields of music, visual creation, and architecture.
The same applies to the promotion of Tangier's heritage, whether revealed or not, historical or industrial, through the invention of festival routes and the staging of the city's main venues, as well as highlighting Tangier as the first metropolis of the Maghreb capable of building an innovative and international cultural event. Thus, the second edition of "Nuits sonores de Tanger" on the horizon is, to say the least, promising. "Nuits sonores" and "European Lab Tanger" have a unique ambition: to develop a generous, collaborative cultural event in the city of the Strait, co-constructed between artistic and cultural actors from Tangier and Lyon, Europe, and the entire Maghreb. Cultural and creative exchange, as well as artistic collaboration, are unique and precious opportunities to bring together citizens, artists, young people, creators, and professionals from both shores of the Mediterranean. The European Lab Forum, conducive to the exchange of ideas, projects, and cultural perceptions, will be held on the sidelines of the event.
Since the first edition in 2013, "Nuits sonores Tanger" has fostered meetings between Europe and the Maghreb by inviting Moroccan, French, and international artists. In addition to music concerts, the programme includes fourteen original projects (exhibitions, screenings, installations, games, parades, etc.). In parallel, children will be in the spotlight with the "Tanger Kids" programme dedicated to them. Workshops and initiations will allow them to dive into the sonic, visual, and sensory universe of the festival. In short, European Lab Tanger will offer spectators of all ages an appealing and diverse programme.
