To make this event a success, the organizers have called on the expertise of major experts in the field of marathon organization, including Pedro Rumbao, director of the Rock'n'Roll Madrid Marathon and vice-president of Mapoma; Samir Bouchotroch, director of Aenor Morocco and member of the Larache International Triathlon committee; Rachid Ghanmouni, French marathon and half-marathon champion and Olympic military marathon vice-champion (Brazil edition); Guillermo Jimenez, former director general of sports in Spain and president of Mapoma; and Khalid Azerkan, former director of the Stockholm Marathon, advisor to the Mohammed VI International Meeting, and founder of the Swedish multinational timing company. Abdelghani Ragala emphasized the importance of this type of event for the city's animation and the revitalization of tourist and economic activity, noting that the month of November usually corresponds to a low season in terms of tourist influx. Already, the marathon organizers have embarked on a promotional dynamic linking sport to the image of Tangier as a tourist destination. The Tangier International Marathon is set to be one of the most anticipated national sporting events of the year. This foot race will be a new opportunity to confirm the city of Tangier as a metropolis meeting the requirements of the local population and tourists in terms of sporting and cultural entertainment.
