The city of the Strait will host, from 3 to 7 June, the 1st edition of the Student Festival, organised by the delegation of national education and training of Tangier-Assilah under the theme "Activating the role of school life, a lever for the promotion of the student's capacities." The festival aims to be a space for expression and prospecting for budding talents in the fields of culture, artistic creation, and sport, through numerous activities led by students and supervised by eminent researchers, artists, and education executives, indicates a statement from the delegation. It is about encouraging the development of young talents and enriching school life, by highlighting the creations of students in several disciplines, such as theatre, cinema, music, visual arts, and sport. Among the highlights planned for this festival are the creation of a large painting of 50 m2 formed by a hundred canvases painted by students under the theme "Tangier seen by the rising generation," as well as the holding of the Provincial Student Film Festival at the Tangier Cinematheque. The event also involves the organisation of the Provincial School Theatre Festival, in partnership with the Moroccan Association of Theatre Professionals, in addition to a meeting dedicated to the literary creation of students, supervised by renowned Moroccan poets. Throughout the days of the festival, sports competitions in football, basketball, handball, and athletics will be organised, before ending on Saturday with a major sports event at the Marchane stadium. The last day will be marked by the organisation of the Student Carnival, which will travel through the avenues of the city from the Place des Nations to the Marchane stadium, offering the opportunity for hundreds of children to show their talents in a festive setting celebrating the end of the school year. The Student Festival programme also provides for conferences and round tables on "The history of cinema," "Cinema professions," and "Theatre and the Moroccan school," as well as drawing, theatre, and cinema workshops.
