"Bring art where there is none!" such is the motto of Street Art Sans Frontières (SASF) which opened its first exhibition "Project Morocco 2015" at the Les Étoiles de Sidi Moumen Cultural Centre on Tuesday 31 March at 7 p.m. This French association which brings together several signatures of French Street Art arrived in Morocco last January to "create works in several cities of the country". From Fez to Marrakech, making a stop in Casablanca, these passionate artists have criss-crossed the Kingdom in search of "areas a little forgotten artistically in order to bring colour to them". Their niche: "painting directly in the street, in contact with the population and thus bringing about a human exchange around art". For its second visit to Morocco, Street Art Sans Frontières set down its paint pots in Sidi Moumen for an artistic residency giving birth to an extraordinary work: a wall fresco more than 18 m high representing a traditional Moroccan zellige. An artistic creation which, not only will bring colour to this neighbourhood located on the outskirts of Casablanca, but which will also mark, and in a considerable way, the urban planning of Sidi Moumen. Accompanied in this project by the Ali Zaoua Foundation, Street Art Sans Frontières also led a series of workshops with young people from the Sidi Moumen neighbourhood, and even beyond, thus inviting them to take part in their creative work. "We really want to create an interaction with the inhabitants," they explain.
