This project will concern, at the end of an implementation agreement for a project to aggregate the legume sector (chickpea), recently concluded with the Spanish group "Naturalim SA", an area of 4,000 ha and 500 aggregated farmers in the Region.
The rural communes concerned by this aggregation are Ain Bouali, Louadaine, Ain Kansara, and Ouled Mimoun falling under the province of Moulay Yacoub, and Bir Tamtam, Ras Tabouda, and Aghbalou Aqorar in the province of Séfrou, specifies the same source.
According to the agreement, the aggregator will ensure the supply of necessary inputs, soil analyses in laboratories, and close supervision and training for the aggregated farmers. It also undertakes to take charge of the collection, reception, and processing of production in its packaging plant, as well as its marketing on the national market and for export.
As for the purchase price of the production, it must be negotiated and set at the beginning of each agricultural campaign by mutual agreement between the parties.
As for the DRA of Fès-Boulemane, it must accompany the realisation of the project through mediation for the establishment of individual aggregation contracts with the aggregated farmers and contribute to their training and supervision.
The ADA must contribute for its part with the DRA to the implementation of the project within its contractual framework by taking the necessary measures with Tamwil Elfellah to allow small aggregated producers to access financing and ensure that the aggregator and the aggregated farmers benefit from State aid specific to aggregation within the framework of the Agricultural Development Fund.
This agreement, concluded with the Spanish group in harmony with the guidelines of the Green Morocco Plan, notably in terms of aggregation as a model for organising farmers around private actors or professional organisations with strong managerial capacity, also concerns the regions of Gharb-Cherarda-Bni Hsen, Meknès-Tafilalt, and Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zair, i.e., a total area of 10,000 ha and 1,400 aggregated producers.
