The number of unfinished projects in Mohammedia is enough to raise questions. Beyond this state of affairs, and regardless of the political affiliation of the City Council, it is crucial to prioritise the interests of the seaside city over political calculations. In this context, it seems that the municipality has decided to play the transparency card, breaking with the old habits that led to the phenomenon of unfinished construction sites. In this sense, it is worth mentioning the launch, in the near future, of the construction of the indoor sports hall located on Zenata Boulevard, near the stadium. The municipality has unblocked the situation and an assessment of the work already carried out has been completed with a view to finishing the project. A set of specifications has been drawn up and a budget of 8 million dirhams has been allocated to the project, with work to resume as soon as the contract is approved.

The municipal swimming pool, another structure that has been abandoned and closed for 14 years, is also set to be refurbished soon. Indeed, the contract has been awarded and a budget of 4 million dirhams has been allocated to the project. At the same time, as part of the city's beautification, certain neighbourhoods in El Alia will be equipped with fountains to give them a better appearance.

To this end, a fountain equipped with light displays will be installed in Hay Errachidia, at the new roundabout located on Moulay Rachid Boulevard. In the same vein, four small fountains will be installed in Al-Wahda Park, all for a total cost of 3.3 million dirhams. Sport has not been forgotten. The large space where the Mssalla will be set up, with asphalt surfacing, will also serve to house sports facilities with removable equipment, which can be moved on the days of Eid prayer. In total, 5 million dirhams have been mobilised for this project. On another note, one of the most important projects is the construction of a connecting bridge. With a length of 210 linear metres, this bridge will connect Mohammed VI Boulevard to the secondary road 36-B at the industrial zone roundabout. This project will allow road users to bypass the centre of Mohammedia, whether heading towards Casablanca or Rabat. The cost of the project, for which the study contract has been awarded, is approximately 120 million dirhams, of which 80 million dirhams is to be borne by the municipality through a loan from the FEC (Municipal Equipment Fund). The remainder of the budget (40 million dirhams) will come from a contribution from the General Directorate of Local Authorities, spread over three parts (15 million dirhams in 2014, 15 million dirhams in 2015 and 10 million dirhams in 2016).

Furthermore, this positive momentum must continue in other areas, such as the Abderrahim Bouabid theatre which has still not been inaugurated, the Sports and Leisure Centre which is still closed, or the fountain located on the square of the Marche Verte which is no longer working due to a simple speed controller problem, a problem that will be resolved shortly, according to a municipal official.
