More than 1,500 participants in the 6th stage of the federal cross-country

More than 1,500 athletes in the various categories (minimes, cadets, juniors, and seniors) took part in the 6th stage of the federal cross-country, organized on Sunday in Marrakech.

Initiated by the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation (FRMA), in collaboration with the Marrakech-Safi Athletics League, this sporting event aimed to select the best participants for the Arab Cross Country Championship in Jordan, and to prepare the athletes for the World Athletics Championships, scheduled for September in Tokyo.

In the Seniors category (10 km), Hafid Rizki, from the Bejaad club, won first place among men, while Soukaina Atanane from the Ben Smim club won among women.

In the junior-women category (6 km), Saïda Bouzi, from the Wifaq Riadi Fassi club, took first place, while Mohamed Zaouia (same club) won among junior-men (8 km).

Regarding the general team classification, the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) athletics club took first place in the Seniors-men category, while the Fath Union Sport (FUS) club dominated the same category for women.

As for the Juniors, the Rapide club Oued-Zem Association won among women, while the Achbal Tamda Azilal Association won first place among men.

Concerning the cadets, the Union sportive Tahla (women) and the Kasri sports club (men) took the top step of the podium, while the Union sportive de Marrakech (girls) and the Wifaq Riad Fassi club (boys) dominated the minimes category.

On this occasion, the spokesperson for the FRMA, Mohamed Nouri, highlighted the success of this event, emphasizing the high level of competition that marked the various events.

He also welcomed the favorable conditions and the arrangements made by the organizers and local authorities to ensure the smooth running of the competitions.

For their part, athletes Hafid Rizki and Saïda Bouzi expressed their joy at having won first place in this competition, noting that these results are the fruit of hard work throughout the year.

They also affirmed that these performances constitute a source of motivation for them to achieve better results in future major competitions.

It should be noted that this event, which saw the participation of the best athletes representing 134 clubs and sports associations, comes within the framework of the FRMA program aimed at discovering new talents and fostering the emergence of future champions.
