The fourth edition of the Marrakech International Digital Festival took place from 28 to 30 November, under the banner "Re-mapping art events, media and digital creation practices in the Arab world". Initiated by the "Arab Media Art" project, this digital art festival offered the opportunity to a fine selection of both national and foreign artists to exhibit their latest practices, research and technologies, and to share their significant achievements in terms of developing practices in the fields of arts and media.

According to the organisers, more than 100 works were at the centre of this edition, including experimental films, auteur films, creative documentaries, video art, digital art, digital cinema and video installations. This event aims in particular to present the different trends and practices around digital cinema and digital videos, multimedia performances, video installations, mapping projections and other interdisciplinary components.

"Digital Marrakech" also aims to be a platform for local artists to present their work to a wide audience and thus benefit from a critical review, add the initiators, stressing that the festival plays an important role in expanding opportunities for Moroccan talent, by offering the best of them the possibility of carrying out their work through masterclasses, lasting two to four weeks, under the supervision of professionals. "Our ambition is to bring out artists sharing enthusiasm and common ideas with a view to 'introducing' them professionally into the most recent trends in terms of arts and media practices," indicate the organisers. The latter express the wish to make this festival a major cultural event on the Moroccan and Arab scene and to unify the various social components such as culture, art and education. This edition was marked by tributes to Terence Malick, Wes Anderson, Tarantino, Bressons and Ghassan Salhab.
