Tribute to artists Khadija Assad and Aziz Saâdallah

A vibrant tribute was paid, on Friday evening at the Laâyoune Congress Palace, to artists Khadija Assad and Aziz Saâdallah on the occasion of the opening of the second edition of the Laâyoune International Street Theatre Festival. The various speakers during this tribute praised the exceptional careers of the two artists, highlighting their exemplary human values and their memorable performances in the various films, sitcoms, and plays that they have marked with their talent and strong presence. On this occasion, the festival director, Abdelkader Atouif, explained that this event, which was held from 8 to 10 April, aimed to promote the city of Laâyoune as a crossroads of cultural and artistic exchange between the peoples of the world, consolidate the values of peace, and affirm the city's capacity to host events of this magnitude.

He added that this festival is intended to be an opportunity to highlight street theatre and its role as a tool for awareness, specifying that it is marked by the presentation of numerous theatre shows, street arts, pyrotechnic feats, and circus acts. Organised by the Odyssée Association for Culture and Art, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and in partnership with the Mohammed V National Theatre, the Banque Populaire Foundation, elected councils, and public and private institutions, this festival, organised on the Place du Méchouar in the city of Laâyoune, is an opportunity to transform the city into a space for cultural and artistic exchange between peoples. On the menu of this cultural event, in which national and international theatre troupes from Germany, Spain, France, and Argentina took part, were also the organisation of conferences and artistic meetings, in addition to training workshops in various specialties for the benefit of young amateurs and professionals working in the field of theatre in the southern provinces.
