The Australian "QS Ranking 2015 of the best Arab institutions" system, which is among the most renowned systems in its category, has ranked Al Akhawayn University as the first Moroccan university and the third in North Africa. This ranking, which saw the participation of nearly 2,500 employers and 3,700 academics, takes into account the level of the institution's staff, the proportion of academics with a doctorate, the number of research papers per faculty member and the number of citations per article, the proportions of international faculty and students, as well as the university's web impact.
According to a statement from the University, nearly 260 institutions from 15 Arab countries were evaluated, and 100 of them appear in the ranking. According to the same source, young graduates from these institutes would have a better chance of landing good jobs. Let us recall that Al Akhawayn University recently announced the opening of the first centre dedicated to the promotion of business ethics, "The Centre for Business Ethics (CBE)". This is a project financed by the German group Siemens within the framework of the Siemens Integrity Initiative (SII) with the objective of strengthening integrity in the Moroccan business environment and orienting behaviours towards more "morality" in different sectors, namely energy, health, industry, and infrastructure. The CBE will therefore constitute a major player in the fight against corruption through the training of professionals, students, and educators, as well as the conduct of research projects.
