A festival to elect “Miss Snow”

Organised around the theme “Protecting the environment, the basis for sustainable tourism”, the Snow Festival is part of the city's solidarity and humanitarian development framework.

The city of Ifrane recently hosted the third edition of the Snow Festival, a festivity organised by the province and the provincial council of Ifrane, in collaboration with the Tourtite association. This festival received resounding favourable feedback from rural and urban populations who came to attend the various socio-cultural and sporting festivities held last weekend.

All the populations of the towns of Azrou, Aïn Leuh and the surrounding communes experienced two days of relaxation and shared happiness. During these two days, the city of Ifrane experienced prosperous moments that transformed its environment into joyful cheer.

Organised around the theme: “Protecting the environment, the basis for sustainable tourism”, the Snow Festival is part of the solidarity and humanitarian development framework between the different layers of the population while promoting the valuation of local products to the general public. After the opening of the festival with the participation of folklore troupes from the region and music groups combined with singing and dancing performances, an evening was marked by the election of “Miss Snow 2015”. The commission's choice fell on 14-year-old Nouhaila El Hilali from the city of Ifrane, who was crowned among twelve contestants.

Furthermore, 13-year-old Salma Aserrikh and 16-year-old Asmae Ouhami, from the town of Azrou, were chosen as runners-up for Miss Snow for the same year. At the end of this election ceremony, an artistic evening was organised in which a variety of artists and comedians took part, with a performance by the group “Over Boys”. A carnival was also organised in the centre of the city of Ifrane with the participation of several sporting, artistic and folklore associations. Floats presenting the activities of provincial administrations (Provincial Directorate of Agriculture (DPA), Water and Forests, Youth and Sports…), preceded by flower-decked floats of “Miss Snow” and her runners-up, paraded through the streets of the city.
