At the beginning of his sermon, the Imam stated that the precepts underlying the Muslim religion are practical principles and fundamental guidelines, insisting on the imperative to take the Quranic verses and the hadiths of the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him, very seriously, and to judge our actions and attitudes by the yardstick of these religious prescriptions and recommendations. He then stressed that the Most High orders humans to help one another in goodness and to avoid any reprehensible action, in accordance with the verse of the Holy Quran saying: "Help one another in the performance of good deeds and piety and do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allah, for Allah is, indeed, severe in punishment". The objective of Islam being the realisation of human happiness and dignity through hearts filled with tranquillity, purity, faith in God, certainty, and harmony.
The Imam pointed out that mutual aid is innate in many living species in that it represents the condition for the possibility of their survival and the fulfilment of their needs. Being the most developed of these creatures, Man must establish a cooperation with his fellow man that is otherwise deeper and more elaborate because the reason with which he is endowed predisposes him to collective action, which is also essential due to the interdependence existing between humans and without which the community risks falling into inaction and, consequently, failing in its mission, that of populating the earth. Therefore, he insisted, every believer must work, with selflessness, determination, and in a concrete manner, to implement this mutual aid through the contribution to the realisation of projects, such as mosques, schools, universities, hospitals, dams, roads, factories, the fight against slums, and the fulfilment by each person, whether they are a civil servant or a worker, of their duty in a proper manner.
According to the Imam, the areas where mutual aid between humans is recommended are multiple and varied, and as Man cannot invest himself totally in them, it is strongly recommended that he help one another primarily in the realisation of the interests of the nation, an act now considered as a supreme act of worship and as a praiseworthy action, and, what is more, amply rewarded by the Most High. The Imam indicated, on the other hand, that the Almighty advises humans at the same time not to help one another in actions of transgression of sacred divine values and aggression against humans, adding that what applies to mutual aid between individuals is also valid for States, especially since cooperation between countries is the only guarantee against resorting to destructive aggression.
At the end of his sermon, the Imam implored the Almighty to grant support and assistance to H.M. the King, Commander of the Faithful, protector of the faith and religion, to preserve the Sovereign as a source of benefits for the Ummah and to bless Him in the persons of H.R.H. Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, H.R.H. Prince Moulay Rachid, and all the members of the illustrious Royal Family. The Imam also raised prayers to the Most High to surround the late H.M. Hassan II and the late H.M. Mohammed V with His holy mercy and to welcome them into His paradise among the Prophets, the saints, and the virtuous.
