The village of Bouskoura is located about twenty kilometres south of Casablanca. It is called by this name because it is situated near the Bouskoura forest, which is one of the largest forests in Morocco and attracts a large number of Casablancais on weekends and public holidays. Most of the trees in Bouskoura are eucalyptus. Bouskoura contains two large mosques built by the King of Saudi Arabia, as well as a small tunnel under the railway line passing through Bouskoura, the work on which will soon be finished after decades of stoppage for unknown reasons.

It is also known for its industrial zone, which is considered one of the most important industrial zones in Morocco. Bouskoura has experienced an explosion in the construction of shanty towns due to the exodus of populations from Casablanca to settle near the industrial zones.

The Bouskoura wadi, which was an aquatic environment where many animals lived (dozens of species of fish; tortoises, lizards, snakes; butterflies), is completely polluted by the discharge of industrial waste from factories.
