Abdelsalam Frindo, Governor of the Driouch Province, paid a surprise visit to the headquarters of the Bni Tadjite territorial commune on the morning of Tuesday, 11 February 2025, as part of efforts to strengthen the principles of good governance and improve the quality of public services provided to citizens. This visit aimed to assess the workflow of the public facility, especially following an increase in citizen complaints regarding staff negligence and failure to adhere to administrative working hours, particularly during the morning period.
During his visit, which he conducted alone, the province's top territorial official made sure to monitor the quality of citizen reception and the speed at which their files were processed, in addition to verifying that staff were adhering to administrative hours and respecting their professional duties.
This move was widely praised by the province's residents, who expressed their hope that such initiatives would lead to improved performance in local administrations and the elimination of all forms of administrative laxity and corruption. Citizens also called for more frequent surprise visits to ensure the efficiency of administrative work and to achieve fairness in the provision of public services.
The Governor's action comes within the framework of a new approach based on a policy of proximity and field monitoring, which reflects the local authorities' commitment to establishing good governance and strengthening citizens' trust in public institutions. Will this step be the beginning of a radical reform in the management of local affairs in the Driouch Province?
