As part of the activities of the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Health for the Sidi Slimane province, two specialised medical caravans were recently organised for the benefit of the populations of the rural communes of Amer Chamalia and Kcébia. More than 2,000 people were able to benefit from the medical and paramedical services provided by doctors and nurses during the two operations. The various services included specialised consultations, notably in general medicine, paediatrics, pneumo-phthisiology, cardiology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and gynaecology. During the caravan tour, the population also benefited from various biological analyses and others in the fields of smoking cessation, maternal and child health, healthy lifestyles, etc., in addition to the distribution of medication to all those examined who required medical treatment. "The specialised medical caravans are part of the 2012-2014 sectoral strategy, which places particular importance on the policy of proximity and on the rural population in general, and the underprivileged in particular. These actions are also part of the annual provincial action plan, which will be carried out in collaboration with the Regional Health Directorate to allow residents of other rural communes to benefit from the same services," Dr Ahmed Bitane, provincial delegate of the Ministry of Health, told "Le Matin". Furthermore, the caravans in question saw significant mobilisation of medical, paramedical, and administrative staff, thus leaving a positive impression among the populations, particularly among pregnant women who benefited from ultrasound examinations and various other biological tests.
