Some 1,209 people recently benefited in Medyouna (Taounate province) from medical services provided by a multidisciplinary caravan, at the initiative of the Rabat Medical Students' Association (Méd'Ociation).
This medical caravan, which took place in the presence of numerous figures working notably in the voluntary sector, aims to offer specialised medical services to the inhabitants of the small locality of Medyouna and thus contribute to improving the health of underprivileged groups, providing them with relief and potentially screening for a number of diseases, the organisers indicate.
This initiative, launched in collaboration with the regional delegation of the Ministry of Health and local authorities, covered areas including cardiology, gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynaecology, dentistry, general medicine, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and pulmonology.
The services were carried out successfully, the organisers emphasise, noting that medicinal products were also distributed to underprivileged individuals, alongside the organisation of awareness sessions regarding maternal and child health.
This charitable action was also enhanced by a circumcision operation performed for around sixty children.
Méd'Ociation is a non-profit association that has organised several medical caravans and social actions, including "Integration Week", an activity intended for first-year medical students. The objective of this event is to facilitate the integration of new students, allow them to establish contact with other year groups, provide information on the medical curriculum, and promote the association.
