The 14th edition of the national Ahidous festival, held under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, will be held from 15 to 17 August in Aïn Leuh, with the participation of troupes from different regions. This edition, organised by the Ministry of Culture and the Taymate Association for Atlas Arts, aspires to preserve and promote the art of Ahidous as a common heritage of all Moroccans, indicates a press release from the regional delegation of the Ministry of Culture. Organised in partnership with the rural commune of Aïn Leuh, this Festival has become an annual meeting place for researchers, poets, and Ahidous artists, the same source indicates, adding that this event gives particular interest to troupes and associations interested in the art of Ahidous, the ultimate goal being to preserve this Amazigh musical heritage and transmit it to future generations. The festival programme includes musical evenings with the participation of nearly 37 troupes, selected from 72 troupes from all regions of the Kingdom that took part in the national qualifiers organised on 17 and 18 May in Meknes, and eight poetry groups. Various other activities are also scheduled, including workshops, colloquiums, and tributes that will be paid to a number of Amazigh poets.
