A strategic partnership between Lesieur Cristal and Nareva Services, a subsidiary of the Nareva Group. This partnership is fully in line with Lesieur Cristal's CSR approach focused on sustainable development, including a decarbonisation plan by 2030. The objective is to install a solar photovoltaic power plant at the Ain Harrouda factory. "This partnership with Nareva Services represents a major step forward in our decarbonisation strategy. For his part, Norddine Moukhlisse, Deputy CEO of Nareva Services, added: "We are delighted with this partnership with Lesieur Cristal, a national champion in the agri-food sector, to develop a solar photovoltaic power plant project that meets the most advanced technical and environmental requirements. This project reflects our shared ambition to promote a greener and more responsible economy." According to both parties, this partnership aims to install a solar photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 2 MWc at the Ain Harrouda factory.
This project embodies Lesieur Cristal's commitment to reducing its environmental impact, promoting sustainable industrial practices, and actively contributing to the climate, as well as Nareva Services' commitment to actively participate in the competitive decarbonisation of the national economy. Through this collaboration, Lesieur Cristal and Nareva Services will combine their expertise to install 3,175 photovoltaic panels over an area of 1.5 hectares, reducing Lesieur Cristal's annual energy consumption by 12%. This project is part of the group's decarbonisation strategy, which aims to reduce its CO2 emissions by 34% by 2030, compared to the reference year 2020. It should be noted that the Lesieur Cristal group continues to make concrete efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.
The installation of this solar photovoltaic power plant is part of a larger project aimed at integrating renewable energies at other group sites. By 2030, Lesieur Cristal aims to ensure the traceability of more than 75% of its soy and palm oil supply, while guaranteeing that its raw materials come from sustainable crops. In addition, Lesieur Cristal also valorises its co-products, such as kernels and husks, which are transformed into biofuels to power biomass boilers. This contributes to reducing its fossil fuel consumption and its carbon footprint.
