Adventure awaits!HM King Mohammed VI was born on Wednesday 21 August 1963 (1st Rabiaa II 1383 of the Hegira) in Rabat. At the age of four, the late HM Hassan II had him enter the Quranic school at the Royal Palace.

On 28 June 1973, HM King Mohammed VI successfully obtained his primary school certificate and continued his secondary studies at the Royal College, where he obtained his baccalaureate in 1981.
In 1985, HM King Mohammed VI obtained his law degree from the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences of Rabat. The subject of his thesis was "The Arab-African Union and the strategy of the Kingdom of Morocco in terms of international relations".
In 1987, he obtained the first certificate of higher studies (C.E.S) in political science with honours.
In July 1988, HM King Mohammed VI obtained with honours the diploma of higher studies of the doctorate in public law.
In order to complete his training and to experience closely the practice of the principles and rules of law learned at the faculty, he carried out, in November 1988 in Brussels, an internship of a few months, directly with Mr. Jacques Delors, then President of the Commission of the European Communities.
On 29 October 1993, he obtained, at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, the title of Doctor of Law with the mention "very honourable" and the congratulations of the jury, for his doctoral thesis in law, on the theme of "EEC-Maghreb cooperation".
On 22 December 1979, HM King Mohammed VI was appointed Honorary President of the Socio-Cultural Association of the Mediterranean Basin.
On 18 March 1982, he was appointed by the late HM Hassan II, President of the Organising Committee of the IXth Mediterranean Games in Casablanca.
On 11 April 1985, HM King Mohammed VI was appointed by the late HM Hassan II, Coordinator of the Offices and Services of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, a task worthy of a prince who knew how to successfully carry out the various responsibilities and missions entrusted to him.
On 12 July 1994, HM King Mohammed VI was promoted to the rank of Major General.
Since 1996, president of the Royal Moroccan Association of the Saddle Horse (ARMCS) and honorary president of the "TAFILELT" association. The sovereign has been president of the surf club "Oudayas Surf Club of Rabat" (OSCR) since 1999.
Accustomed to heavy tasks since his young age, HM King Mohammed VI, then crown prince, was often charged by his late father to carry out numerous missions at different national, Arab, Islamic, African, and international levels, with brotherly and friendly Heads of State. He thus participated in several international and regional conferences.
His first official mission abroad dates back to 6 April 1974, when he represented the late HM Hassan II at the Religious Office celebrated at the "Notre Dame de Paris" cathedral in memory of the French President, Georges Pompidou.
Became King of Morocco on 23 July 1999, after the death of HM Hassan II. The ceremony of presentation of allegiance took place in the throne room of the Royal Palace of Rabat.
On 30 July 1999, HM King Mohammed VI gave his high instructions for the feast of the throne to be celebrated on 30 July of each year, and addressed to the nation his first throne speech in which the sovereign committed to continue the work of his father, the late HM Hassan II, and to grant particular priority to the solution of certain social problems.
HM King Mohammed VI is supreme commander and chief of the general staff of the royal armed forces (FAR).
His first trip abroad since his enthronement was carried out from 25 to 28 December 1999, during which HM King Mohammed VI visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the Republic of Tunisia.
On 12 July 2002, marriage of HM King Mohammed VI with HRH Princess Lalla Salma.
On 8 May 2003, the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol, and Chancellery announced the happy news of the birth of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, to whom the Sovereign decided to give the first name of his August Grandfather, the late His Majesty Hassan II, may God have his soul.
His Majesty King Mohammed VI has been awarded several decorations and Prizes:
-The Trophy of the International Association Against Violence in Sport (AICVS), on 11 September 1983;
-The grand cordon of the Tunisian republic, in August 1987;
-The gold medals awarded by the sports magazine (French-English) "Champion of Africa", for the years 1988-1989;
-The "For Granada 1999" prize in its honorary modality awarded by the group of radio stations of the "SER" chain of Granada, in December 1999;
-The Hussein Ibn Ali necklace (Jordan), in March 2000;
-The grand cross with cordon of the order of merit of the Italian Republic, in April 2000;
-The grand cordon of national merit (Mauritania), in April 2000;
-The grand necklace of the order of 7 November (Tunisia), in May 2000;
-The grand cordon of the Malian national insignia, on 14 June 2000;
-The prize of the American foundation "Hellen Keller" which works in the social field, and more particularly in the fight against blindness, on 17 July 2000;
-The title of doctor honoris causa of George Washington University, on 22 June 2000;
-The necklace of the order of Isabella the Catholic (Spain), on 18 September 2000;
-The Abderrahmane 1st prize, awarded by the Almunecar town hall (60 KM East of Granada). Prize traditionally awarded to personalities contributing significantly to the strengthening of relations between the Arab world and Europe, on 27 November 2000;
-"The emblem of ISESCO", the highest distinction awarded by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to member heads of state, on 7 December 2000;
-The Wissam "Oumaya" Al Watani of the order of the grand Wichail (Syria), on 9 April 2001;
-The Lebanese merit Wissam of exceptional category, on 13 June 2001;
-The grand cordon of Abou Bakr Seddiq, the highest distinction of the organization of Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross associations, in recognition of the role played by the Sovereign in the field of humanitarian and charitable action and of his solidarity with the destitute layers, on 29 June 2001;
-Grand necklace Al-Khalifia (Bahrain), on 28 July 2001;
-The presidential shield awarded by the Arab Labour Organization (ALO) in consideration for the efforts deployed by the Sovereign in the fields of economic development and the promotion of joint Arab action, on 19 April 2002;
-The Grand Gold Necklace of African Handball Merit awarded by the African Handball Confederation (CAHB), on 22 April 2002
-The emblem of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), on 29 April 2002;
-Ouissam "Moubarak Al Kabir", presented by the Kuwaiti Head of State, HH Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, on 22 October 2002;
-"Cordon of Independence", presented by the Emir of Qatar HH Hamad Ben Khalifa Al-Thani, on 25 October 2002;

-On 5 October 2004, King Albert II of Belgium decorates HM King Mohammed VI with the Grand Cross of the Order of Leopold;
-On 23 November 2004, the Mediterranean Federation of Tourism Journalists and Writers (OMJET) awards HM King Mohammed VI the Grand Olive Prize for Tourism and Peace for the year 2004;
-On 24 November 2004, the International Federation of Tourism Journalists and Writers (FIJET) and the Arab Federation of Tourism Journalists and Writers (FAJET) award HM King Mohammed VI the "Badge" of the two Federations;
-On 26 November 2004, HM King Mohammed VI, on an official visit to
Brazil, is decorated in Brasilia by President Lula da Silva with the "Cruzeiro do Sul" medal, the highest distinction awarded in Brazil to foreign heads of state and illustrious personalities;
-On 30 November 2004, HM King Mohammed VI, on an official visit to Peru, is decorated, in Lima, by the Peruvian President, Mr. Alejandro Toledo, with the Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru, the highest Peruvian distinction, awarded to a high foreign personality;
-On 1 December 2004, HM King Mohammed VI, on an official visit to Peru, is decorated by the President of the Peruvian Congress (Parliament), with the Medal of Honour of the Congress of the Order of the Grand Cross;
-On 3 December 2004, HM King Mohammed VI is decorated, at the La Moneda palace in Santiago, by the Chilean President Mr. Ricardo Lagos Escobar, with the "Bernardo O'Higgins" necklace, the most prestigious distinction awarded to foreign heads of state and illustrious personalities;
-On 11 February 2005, HM the King is decorated by the President of the United States of Mexico, Mr. Vicente Fox Quesada, with the Grand Necklace of the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle, one of the prestigious decorations awarded to heads of state and high personalities in Mexico;
-On 1 March 2005, HM King Mohammed VI is decorated by the Burkinabe President, Mr. Blaise Compaoré, with the Grand Cross of the Burkinabe Order, the highest distinction presented by Burkina to a head of state;
-On 19 March 2005, HM King Mohammed VI is elected "Francophone Economic Man of the Year" by the Francophone Business Forum (FFA) because of the vast social project embodied by the numerous reforms initiated in
Morocco by the Sovereign;
-On 28 November 2005, HM the King is decorated by His Imperial Majesty Akihito, Emperor of Japan, with the Necklace of the Supreme Order of the "Chrysanthemum" and the Grand Cordon of the Supreme Order of the "Chrysanthemum";
-On 20 February 2006, HM King Mohammed VI is decorated by the Gambian President, Mr. Yahia Jammeh, with the insignia of the Grand Commander of the Republic of The Gambia;
-On 22 February 2006, HM King Mohammed VI is decorated with the Grand Cross of the National Order of Merit of Congo by the Congolese President, Mr. Denis Sassou Nguesso;
-On 28 February 2006, HM the King is decorated by the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Mr. Joseph Kabila, with the Grand Cordon of the National Order "National Heroes", the highest honorary distinction of the DRC;
-On 21 April 2006, Special Olympics International awards the "Special Olympics International" shield of the first rank to HM King Mohammed VI as a sign of gratitude and recognition for the efforts deployed by the Sovereign in the social field and for the benefit of disabled people;
-On 3 May 2006, HM King Mohammed VI receives the Gold Shield of ISESCO for the dialogue of civilisations, the highest distinction of the Organisation, in recognition of the efforts that the Sovereign deploys for the strengthening of dialogue, coexistence, and understanding between peoples;
-On 13 December 2006, HM King Mohammed VI is decorated by the Emir of the State of Kuwait, HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, with the Al Moubarak Al Kabir Necklace;
-On 15 May 2007, HM the King is decorated by the President of Latvia, Mrs. Vaira Vike-Freiberga, with the Order of the Three Stars, the highest distinction of the Republic of Latvia;
-On 18 May 2007, HM King Mohammed VI is decorated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques of Islam, HM King Abdallah Ibn Abdelaziz, with the King Abdelaziz Necklace;
-On 12 April 2009, attribution to HM King Mohammed VI of the 2009 World Peace Prize of the Arab Community Center (ACC), based in Washington.
This prize is awarded to the Sovereign for "His initiatives aimed at the consolidation of peace in the world, the Sovereign being the president of the Al-Quds Committee, as well as for His efforts in the protection of sacred values and the strengthening of peace, freedom, and democracy in the Maghreb region", declares the President of the centre, Mr. Oussama El Sharabassi;
-On 17 April 2009, HM King Mohammed VI is decorated, at the presidential palace in Bata, by the Equatoguinean President, Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, with the Grand Necklace of the Order of Independence, the highest Equatoguinean distinction;
-On 28 October 2009, the Union of Arab Women Investors (UFIA) offers the Shield of the Union to HM King Mohammed VI;
This shield was presented to HRH Princess Lalla Hasna during the opening ceremony of the work of the International Congress of Arab Women Investors, in homage to the Sovereign's action in favour of the promotion of women's rights;
-On 19 November 2009, the Amadeus Institute awards the 2009 Medays Prize for environment and sustainable development to HM King Mohammed VI, in recognition of the Sovereign's personal commitment in favour of responsible development.
