The Arabic-language daily Assabah delivered its judgment on Monday in a case that is still before the courts. To create a sensation, it chose the following title for its defamatory article published on its front page: "A forgery case that drags the USFP to court without its leaders being informed". An article that not only harms the party, but also the president of the Sidi Belyout district, Kamal Daissaoui.
The case in question, which has been before the courts for a decade, concerns a conflict between the heirs of Bouchaib Daissaoui, including Kamal, and a group of people who are trying to seize their property in the old Medina, by resorting to the practice of forgery.
Al Attihad Al Ichtiraki has a document issued by Hassan Malki where he declares on his honour that he rented his apartment from the heirs of Bouchaib Daissaoui, who died on 30 April 2003, and that the latter never lived in the premises in question. This was also confirmed by the bailiff who went to Hassan Malki's home on 20 December 2011. Yet, the forgery is proven: How can one inform a deceased person 9 years after their death? The height of absurdity!
The party only intervened when certain people presented themselves without prior notice, armed with a judicial document attesting to their purchase of the building in question during a public auction session, to have the party's premises, located at 11 Rue Abou Hamed Al Ghazali, Verdun district, evacuated.
As a reminder, the said document does not constitute sufficient proof to proceed with the eviction of the occupants. To do so, one must have an eviction judgment in due form.
After being informed of the attempted forced eviction, members of the party's local office, National Council, and regional secretariat went to the scene and informed the Political Bureau of this incident.
The USFP, it is recalled, nevertheless holds documents attesting to the use of the premises in question since June 2003. The attempt by the daily Assabah to attack the USFP through Kamal Daissaoui will therefore only strengthen the will of its militants to defend, by all legal means, the legitimate interests of the people of Casablanca and the founding principles of the party against these vile plots. Sources close to the Daissaoui family have stated that they intend to take the matter to court to deal with this disinformation campaign that targets both the family and the USFP.
