For ten days, songs, music and theatre, to name but a few, will be on the programme. The planned festivities will thus cater to all tastes.
Thus, today's inaugural evening will honour Moroccan song and will see the participation of the great singer Mahmoud Al Idrissi, Nawal Al Wafa and Ouled Bouazzaoui. It will take place at the Higher School of Fine Arts. Lovers of visual arts will be able to appreciate, the following day, an exhibition under the theme "Popular Heritage" by the artist Falaki to whom tribute will also be paid. A popular show by the Najm Al Bidaoui troupe is also on the programme.
Sunday will be dedicated to children. Several entertainment activities will be devoted to them. Pétanque lovers will even have the possibility of participating in a tournament. In the evening, the public will applaud the Souhail troupe in a play.
The activities of Monday 23 April will be rather cultural with a competition for middle school students accompanied by creations by students of the Sidi Belyout Conservatory. Likewise, a conference under the theme "Popular music and aita" will be organised. Tuesday will see the presentation of the play "L'aita jat". Wednesday evening will be that of poetry, particularly sung poetry and zajal. Another popular art, highly prized, namely folklore, will delight festival-goers with a very diversified programme. The Ahwach, Gnawa, Issawa and Aabidat Rma troupes will enchant the Casablanca public. As for sport, it will not be left out. The organisers have planned the opening, on Friday, of a mini-football tournament opposing the team of the districts to that of the City Council. In the evening, a programme with a spiritual connotation will bring together the Boutchichia brotherhood and the samaa and madih troupe among others. Fans of aita, who are so numerous, will be well pampered. A very diversified programme has been concocted for them for the evening of Saturday 28. For its part, Sunday morning will see the closing of the football tournament.
And to close this festival, nothing better than a musical evening where several singers will perform, notably Abdellali Anouar and the famous Tagada troupe.
