The judicial police of Hay Mohammedi Ain Sebaa recently succeeded in catching a gang of car thieves, specifically two French brands, who were falsifying the keys of the coveted vehicles.
The investigations of the judicial police first led to a person who, in exchange for a sum of money, programmed blank keys for the members of the gang who then only had to easily carry out their heists, it is indicated from a police source.
After the arrest of this "programmer" (29 years old) who also used the services of a locksmith, his junior by one year and also apprehended, the investigators seized a set of car keys (Peugeot and Citroën) and discovered that the elder of the two fraudsters' computer contained a pirated programme from the manufacturer of these brands.
Step by step, the police traced back to an employee of the manufacturer's technical service who was passing on secret car codes to the programmer, which allowed him, after a few clicks, to produce real fake remote control keys.
Pushing the investigations even further, the investigators will get their hands on other alleged accomplices, including the supplier of blank keys that the programmer and locksmith prepared for the thieves so that they could get their hands on the vehicles without any difficulty or break-in.
All the alleged members of this gang were referred to justice, notably for forming a criminal gang, aggravated theft, and complicity, as well as computer programme piracy.
