Hespress has learned, from well-informed sources, that the land registry services in the Ain Chock district of Casablanca are facing difficulties in processing hundreds of suspicious complaints and objections that have poured in from a network formed by real estate appraisal offices and civil associations regarding the ownership of hectares of land near the highway leading to Mohammed V Airport, which are candidates to host a number of facilities and projects programmed in preparation for hosting the "2030 World Cup".
The same sources explained that the activity of this network was not limited to blackmailing property owners and incomplete claims; but went beyond that to reach the original landowners, especially in the Sidi Masoud Ouled Haddou area, under the pretext of allegations of document forgery or the absence of administrative certificates in the registration files.
The newspaper's sources reported that real estate appraisal offices were involved in blackmailing contractors by filing complaints and reports to obstruct licensing procedures and file settlements in the land registry offices, as its members dared to target national institutions; as is the case for the project to build a training institute affiliated with the National Security Directorate in the Tit Mellil commune, and tourism projects in the Ain Chock commune, while the Vatican did not escape its manipulations within what was known as the church land file in the Mediouna province.
The same sources confirmed that the activity of the blackmail network served the interests of major real estate developers who have sought for some time to seize hectares near the highway leading to Mohammed V Airport, pointing out that the network seeks to obstruct real estate projects by fabricating obstacles facing investors, exploiting anonymous complaints driven by electoral disputes; while it employed fake real estate companies to expand the circle of pressure on owners and land registry officials.
It highlighted that the members of this network hide behind consulting and real estate appraisal companies and fake associations that claim to protect public money, and they went so far as to impersonate law enforcement officers to threaten and blackmail real estate project owners, stressing that the movements of the mentioned parties aimed to settle electoral scores, obstruct registration procedures, and divert their path in favor of contractors involved in cases of land seizure located within the most prestigious neighborhoods of Casablanca, as is the case in the third phase of the California neighborhood.
Landowners in the mentioned area are facing the movements of a real estate "lobby" in the Ain Chock district that claims to be protected by influential officials who seek to control plots of land, by using witnesses to cancel ownerships documented for more than 100 years; while real estate developers are racing against time these days to expand their real estate assets in the territorial jurisdiction of the district, and exploit expected changes in development plans, as they rushed to purchase land, plots, and new buildings in more than one area in anticipation of the expected changes, knowing that the new plans that will replace the first ones after their expiration by exhausting the ten-year period are expected to convert areas listed under villa zoning into ground floor + three floors plots, in addition to removing green spaces and belts from lands; which increases the value of these real estate assets.
