A new realisation of the proximity policy initiated by the Sovereign, the Tit Mellil socio-cultural centre (8 million DH) comes to capitalise on the achievements of the first phase of the INDH at the level of the Tit Mellil municipality to achieve the objectives assigned in terms of human development
Thus, the new centre should contribute to the fulfilment of the target population through cultural, educational, and social activities that encourage openness to knowledge, the creativity of young people, and the development of their potential in a civic and responsible framework. Also, this centre will help contribute effectively to the fight against the scourge of school dropout. The socio-cultural centre, built on a plot of 3,330 m2 (1,449 m2 covered), includes notably painting and music workshops, a library, a reading room, a multimedia space, a gymnasium, a 330-seat performance hall capable of hosting various cultural, educational, and artistic activities, an exhibition hall, and a cafeteria
Faithful to its participatory spirit, this INDH centre will allow local associations to develop their activities in a suitable space and thus fulfil their civic duty, a cornerstone of the open societal model adopted by Moroccans. The result of a partnership between the INDH (3 million DH), the Greater Casablanca Region Council (3 million DH), the Tit Mellil municipality (1.5 million DH), and the Provincial Council (500,000 DH), this project is a new illustration of the particular interest that H.M. the King attaches to access to knowledge, culture, and human development, a major project of his reign. This socio-cultural centre also reinforces the development plan of the Greater Casablanca region (2015-2020), launched on 26 September by the Sovereign, the first axis of which, relating to the improvement of the living conditions of the inhabitants, attaches particular interest to social categories in precarious situations and people with specific needs, in complementarity with the INDH programmes.
