The Moussem Ikabarn Tata Association for Development and Cooperation organised the first regional oasis meeting from 18 to 21 October 2012, in parallel with the 7th edition of the regional oasis fair of the South.

This meeting, initiated in partnership with the provincial directorate of agriculture of Tata, the Agency for the Development of the Oasis and Argan Zone, the Southern Agency, and the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Culture, was held under the theme: "Tata Oasis, a challenge for integrated development".

It was notably marked by the participation of Algerian and Tunisian speakers.

The Tata meeting allowed farmers from the province and its surroundings to showcase their products, particularly dates, through the exhibition organised at Al Alaouiyne Square, where around forty stands welcomed oasis dwellers from the region.

For the people of Tata, this meeting, which allowed visitors to get a precise idea of the province's potential, could attract many visitors and investors, thus contributing to the creation of integrated development in this part of the Kingdom that has long been neglected.
