The port of Tan-Tan has experienced exceptional momentum during the first five months of the year. According to the National Office of Fisheries (ONP), coastal and artisanal fishing landings reached 39,739 tonnes by the end of May, an impressive increase of 180% compared to the same period in 2024.
This performance resulted in a market value of more than 485.4 million dirhams, an increase of 63% compared to the 298.43 million dirhams recorded a year earlier.
Pelagic fish were the main drivers of this growth, with a volume of 30,245 tonnes, up 334%, for a value exceeding 116.36 million dirhams (+203%). White fish landings also increased by 30%, reaching 6,283 tonnes for a value of 137.07 million dirhams, compared to 100.34 million a year earlier.
