Tan Tan: 6.5 million DH for the development of the weekly Souk

The main Souk of the city of Tan Tan is undergoing development work to integrate it into the regional economy. Several structural and ambitious development projects have been launched in the Tan Tan province, aimed at the development of infrastructure in the province and the improvement of its attractiveness with a view to making it an exceptional hub at the national level, and which integrate the second tranche of the urban upgrading programme. Among the most important projects, mention should be made of the development of the city's Souk. This project is initiated by the municipal council and the development work will be carried out in partnership with the Agency for the Socio-Economic Promotion of the Southern Provinces for a budget of 6.558 million DH. Planned over ten months, this project involves the paving of 2,500 m2 of ground, the construction of two main entrances, the tiling of 2,600 m2 of ground, the construction of a boundary wall, the development of 14 meat-selling shops, and the construction of sanitary facilities. Work has also been launched on the construction of the peripheral road linking the weekly Souk to Hassan II Boulevard in the city, which will also be carried out in partnership between the Southern Agency and the Tan Tan province for a cost of 4.251 million DH. This rehabilitation project is part of the upgrading of the city's commercial infrastructure and the improvement of tourism potential and promises to make the Souk an economic vector and a springboard for the region's potential. This popular Souk experiences significant movement and records high attendance from the population of the city of Tan Tan. Among the other projects appearing in the framework of this urban upgrading programme is the construction of a new bridge as part of a partnership between the Ministry of Equipment and Transport and the Ministry of the Interior for a cost of approximately 12.4 million DH. The work on this bridge, 97 m long, which lasted 15 months, involves the development of the passage dedicated to the drinking water pipeline, public lighting, the sewerage network, the paving of the passages, and capacity tests, as well as the development of the city's football stadium.
