Spring Festival: Making the city known

The kick-off for the first edition of the Spring Festival of the city of Tamansourt, an event aimed at highlighting the great achievements as well as the major projects accomplished in this new city, was given on Saturday.
Spring Festival: Making the city known

Organised by the Economic Interest Group (GIE) of Tamansourt, this two-week festival will contribute to the animation of the city through a series of sporting and cultural activities as well as musical evenings (19 to 21 April), hosted by renowned artists such as Tahour, Karima Skalli, and Malika El Marrakchia.

Speaking on this occasion, the Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, and Urban Policy, Nabil Benabdallah, observed that the city of Tamansourt, which was built within the framework of the new cities policy, has seen great achievements, which must be strengthened through the combined efforts of all stakeholders concerned.

The minister also insisted on the need to focus more on examining outstanding issues within the framework of the city policy, with a view to giving this urban jewel a new impetus and allowing it to fully play its role as a very attractive urban hub.

Benabdallah also welcomed the organisation of this Festival intended to better publicise this new city, noting that his ministry is working to design a global vision capable of linking the city of Tamansourt to its environment, notably the city of Marrakech via adequate transport lines.

The ministry also pays particular attention to the aspect related to development projects so as to allow this city to offer significant employment opportunities for the benefit of the populations, he explained.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of the Al Omrane Group, Badr Kanouni, stated that the various urban and development projects in the city of Tamansourt are advancing by leaps and bounds, noting that these projects aim, first and foremost, to improve the living environment of the inhabitants and to enhance the quality of the urban landscapes of this city.

The success of the city of Tamansourt, he recalled, remains dependent on the continuity of the joint action carried out by the various stakeholders concerned.

On the menu of this Festival are the organisation of open days for the city of Tamansourt, an opportunity for the presentation of various real estate products, in addition to the holding of a series of sporting, cultural, and recreational activities capable of integrating this city into the urban fabric of the region.

With an area of more than 1,931 ha, the city of Tamansourt, whose current population is estimated at 450,000 souls, has some 90,000 homes, 395 ha of activity zones, 197 ha of facilities, and 320 ha of woodland and green spaces.
