Organized by the 7th Art Association of Settat, this festival proposes to create a national forum of creativity for amateur cinema through the presentation of their productions, the exchange of experiences, the valorization of creative capacities as well as the technical and cultural coaching of amateur filmmakers and actors.
In a statement to the MAP, the festival director, Said Ennidam, affirmed that this edition begins with a new breath with the support of new techniques, thanks to the program launched by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication aiming to renovate 150 cinema halls in the Kingdom.
On the programming of this edition, Mr. Ennidam, who is also the president of the 7th Art Association of Settat, mentioned, among other things, a meeting with the composer Said Al Maghribi, as well as a round table on the state of play of African cinema.
As for the official competition, he indicated that the organizing committee selected 16 films from about 70 applications.
For his part, the president of the jury, Mohamed Nadif, highlighted the importance of this festival in the promotion and discovery of amateur cinema, in addition to the opportunity it offers by bringing together cinema professionals.
In addition to the screenings and debates scheduled, this 16th edition reserves time for training workshops on screenwriting, cinematic imagination, or even acting.
