"Better late than never," says the adage. The city of Settat has finally emerged from its lethargy and has decided to begin upgrading its green spaces and public squares, thanks to the efforts made by public authorities to make this city a place where it is good to live. Indeed, a project for the development and renovation of green spaces is taking shape. This project, which aims to fight against the occupation of public spaces, will contribute to the beautification of the capital of the Chaouia-Ouardigha. The project is part of the city of Settat's upgrading programme.
It involves planting palm trees and trees along the main boulevards and major axes of the city. Public lighting, road repairs, and sidewalk development are also on the agenda.
This intervention is essentially based on the rehabilitation of existing gardens and parks, the creation of new pedestrian spaces that provide recreational plots equipped with park equipment, such as children's rides, sports fields, water points, kiosks, etc. This strategy also aims at the development of peri-urban forests and the homogenisation of alignment trees along major axes. Previously, a cleanliness and environmental qualification campaign for the sites and districts of the city of Settat was launched. Banners reminding people of good practices and inviting residents to be more civic-minded have been put up everywhere in the city.
This campaign, initiated by public authorities in partnership with the city's Municipal Council, the ONCF, economic operators, and civil society associations, aims to raise public awareness of the need to preserve the cleanliness of the city, which must be a daily concern for everyone.
Environmental qualification: Organised recently under the theme "Settat, clean city", a cleanliness and environmental qualification campaign for the sites and districts of the city focused on cleaning actions, improvement of the urban landscape along the railway line and at the level of districts, cemeteries, and public squares, with the objective of making citizens responsible for maintaining the city in a clean state.
