This meeting took place in the presence of the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the UN, Mr. Omar Hilale.

During this meeting, the Moroccan delegation presented the international dynamic driven by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, in favour of the Moroccan nature of the Sahara and in support of the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative. In this context, the Sovereign had called on the United Nations, on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Glorious Green March, on November 6, 2024, to "take their responsibilities by highlighting the great difference between two paradigms: the one embodied by Morocco in its Sahara, realistic and legitimate, and the one based on a sclerotic vision, cut off from the real world and its developments".

The Moroccan delegation also reiterated the Kingdom's support for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy aimed at reaching a political, realistic, pragmatic and sustainable solution on the exclusive basis of the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative, within the framework of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Morocco.
