Rabat – The Rabat Development Association for Sustainable Development organised, on Thursday evening in Rabat, an Andalusian evening as part of the 22nd edition of the "Andalusian Thursdays" event, celebrating the authentic Moroccan Al-Ala music heritage.
This artistic evening was enlivened by the youth orchestra of Sala for Samaa and Al-Ala music, led by Haj Abdelilah Zineber, where the ensemble presented pieces from the Isfahan Nawba in praise of the Adnan Prophet, peace be upon him.
In a deeply musical and spiritual atmosphere, the presented pieces evoked the fragrance of Andalusian music. The artist Abdel Salam Soufiani also added a special touch to this joyous artistic evening with his high vocal capabilities, delicate sensitivity, and distinguished performance.
On this occasion, Nabil Fenjiro, from the organising body, said in a statement to the Moroccan News Agency (MAP), that this artistic evening comes as part of "the association's continued support for youth, and its hosting of new ensembles working in the field of Al-Ala music", adding that the youth orchestra of Sala for Samaa and Al-Ala music includes the finest young chanters and musicians".
For his part, the artist Abdel Salam Soufiani expressed, in a similar statement, his happiness to participate in this evening, alongside a veteran ensemble comprising the most skilled musicians and the sweetest young voices, expressing his gratitude to the Rabat Development Association for Sustainable Development, which is making tremendous efforts to preserve Al-Ala music, considered one of the jewels of ancient and authentic Moroccan heritage.
It is worth noting that the Rabat Development Association for Sustainable Development has been organising the Andalusian Thursdays festival annually, aiming through this event to preserve the heritage of Al-Ala music as an authentic Moroccan heritage.
The association also aims to establish Al-Ala music among youth, satisfy the desires of enthusiasts of this authentic music, and honour one of the pioneers of Al-Ala music in a gesture that demonstrates sincere recognition, pure appreciation, and deep loyalty to an artist who worked with dedication for the continuation, presence, and establishment of this art.
