Rabat hosts the "Basketball Africa League 2025 Combine" between 10 and 12 January

Rabat hosts the "Basketball Africa League 2025 Combine" between 10 and 12 January

This event, which continues until 12 January and brings together 30 young basketball players from all over the world, aims to discover talents who could join one of the teams that will compete in the Basketball Africa League (BAL 2025). These young talents will be closely monitored by club managers, coaches, and scouts, including coaches who participated in the "NBA Africa Coaches Program as part of the NBA 2K25 Summer League" last July in Las Vegas.

The President of the Basketball Africa League, Amadou Gallo Fall, said during a press conference held today, Thursday, in Rabat, to present this edition of the "Basketball Africa League Combine 2025", that this event falls within the framework of the "League's" efforts to promote African basketball at the international level, stressing the essential role played by the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation in this regard.

He also pointed out that choosing Morocco to host such competitions has become "obvious," noting that the Kingdom continues to prove its ability to organise the largest events at the continental, regional, and global levels.

The president of the first professional league launched by the NBA outside North America stressed that "Morocco represents a bright image of an African continent that is developing."

As part of the "2025 Combine", the Basketball Africa League will organise the "BAL4HER" camp, which will bring together 20 young women (under 23) from the territorial communities in Rabat. "BAL4HER" aims to promote gender equality in the African sports ecosystem and celebrate female athletes who serve as role models for young women across the continent. The Basketball Africa League will also organise a training course for about a hundred local coaches.

It is noteworthy that the fifth edition of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) will kick off on 5 April in Rabat and conclude on 14 June in Pretoria, South Africa. This new "season" will see the participation of 12 teams that will play 48 matches in Rabat, Dakar, Kigali, and Pretoria.

The "Basketball Africa League Combine 2025", organised for the second consecutive year in Morocco by the Basketball Africa League, kicks off tomorrow, Friday, at the Ibn Yassine hall in Rabat.
