From January 15, 2025: Royal Air Maroc launches a new line connecting Rabat to Dakhla

The partnership between RAM and the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region strengthens air connections between the cities of the North and those of the South.

Domestic network: Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced last Thursday the launch of a new air route connecting Rabat to Dakhla, as part of the strengthening of its domestic network.

From January 15, 2025, the new direct Rabat – Dakhla air route will be operated at a rate of two frequencies per week (Wednesday and Friday), the company specifies in a press release. Flights will be scheduled to depart from Rabat at 6:50 PM for an arrival in Dakhla at 9:30 PM, while return flights will leave Dakhla at 10:10 PM for an arrival in Rabat at 12:25 AM, the same source continues.

This new direct air route is part of RAM’s development plan, one of the major axes of which is the strengthening of domestic routes. Furthermore, the launch of this line comes within the framework of a partnership signed between RAM and the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region with the objective of improving the air connectivity of this region, renowned for its undeniable tourist assets, and contributing to its influence at the national and international levels, the press release states. Regarding the price, it was set by the two partners at 2,000 dirhams for a round-trip journey in economy class. “The launch of this air route will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the air connectivity of Dakhla and the Southern provinces in general,” stressed the Chairman and CEO of RAM, Hamid Addou, reports the press release. He added that RAM thus consolidates its role as a lever for the economic and tourist development of the various territories of the Kingdom and continues its efforts to facilitate the mobility of Moroccans at the level of the twelve regions of the Kingdom, by increasing direct routes and improving the passenger experience.

The partnership between RAM and the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region thus strengthens air connections between the cities of the North and those of the South. The national company already operates two flights per day connecting Casablanca to Dakhla. Through the launch of the direct Rabat-Dakhla line, Royal Air Maroc continues its strategy of developing its domestic network, in line with the objectives of the programme contract signed in July 2023 with the government. This new transversal approach of Royal Air Maroc aims to better connect the cities of the Kingdom, open up remote regions, and promote domestic tourism, the press release concludes.
