FIFA is setting up in Rabat. According to sources close to the matter, cited by Hesport, the international football governing body is expected to soon open a regional headquarters near the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmoura.
According to the same sources, the signing ceremony of the "protocol" of agreement for the establishment of this headquarters was held this Monday, December 16, on the sidelines of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) awards ceremony, scheduled for this evening at the Marrakech Congress Palace.
The ceremony will see the participation of eminent personalities from the political and sporting world, including representatives from FIFA, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), as well as high-ranking Moroccan officials.
In parallel, intensive meetings are scheduled today between members of FIFA and the CAF executive committee, before the launch of the 2024 CAF Awards ceremony, organised by the Kingdom of Morocco for the third consecutive year. This is part of efforts to strengthen Morocco's position as a global sports centre in Africa.
