This forum, organised by the Centre for Arabic Language for Non-Arabic Speakers under the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), with the participation of academics, specialists and content creators, aims to highlight the importance of the Arabic language in the content industry and to encourage its innovative use in digital media creations.
This meeting also focused on the challenges faced by content creators in light of digital development and the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence. It was also an opportunity to present success stories and inspiring experiences in Arabic content creation to encourage amateurs and professionals to improve their skills.
In an address, the Deputy Director-General of ICESCO, Abdelilah Benarfa, stressed that amidst the global exchange of information and ideas, language, as a powerful tool, stands as a global bridge serving to connect individuals of different cultures and ethnicities, noting that digital development on a global scale urgently requires the use of a well-equipped language that helps in the creation of meaningful content.
The Arabic language now contributes to the creation of global content, helping to strengthen its international position in various fields, he added, highlighting its role as a facilitator of cultural exchanges through the promotion, in particular, of understanding between peoples around the world.
For her part, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication - Culture Sector -, Samira El Malizi, welcomed the choice of the theme for this forum, which coincides with the celebration of World Arabic Language Day, which gives this meeting great importance in the shadow of the computer revolution and digital development.
Highlighting the place of the Arabic language as a communicative, cognitive and cultural link between many peoples, she noted that this language, which faces many challenges, continues to enrich and deepen itself thanks to its semantic richness, in particular.
The forum programme included two dialogue sessions on "content creation for the Arabic language and literature" and "general cultural content creation in Classical Arabic", with the participation of renowned young content creators from the Arab and global scenes.
