HM the King presides over a reception in Rabat on the occasion of the Throne Day

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, presided on Wednesday at the Royal Palace in Rabat over a reception on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Sovereign's accession to the throne of His glorious ancestors.

At the beginning of this ceremony, HM the King saluted the national colours to the sound of the national anthem, while a 21-gun salute rang out. The Sovereign was then greeted by several Moroccan and foreign personalities who came to present their wishes to HM the King on this happy occasion. Thus, the Sovereign was greeted by Mr Nimaga Ismaila, Ambassador of the Central African Republic, dean of the diplomatic corps, dean of the African diplomatic corps and the Islamic diplomatic corps, Monsignor Antonio Sozzo, Nuncio-Ambassador of the Vatican, dean of the European diplomatic corps, Tosari Widjaja, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, dean of the Asian diplomatic corps, Fransisco A. Caraballo, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic, dean of the American diplomatic corps, and Hazim Ahmed Al Youssoufi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq, dean of the Arab diplomatic corps. The Sovereign was subsequently greeted by Abdelillah Benkirane, Head of Government, Rachid Talbi Alami, President of the House of Representatives, Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah, President of the House of Councillors, Mustapha Fares, First President of the Court of Cassation, Mustapha Meddah, Prosecutor General at this court, Mohamed Achergui, President of the Constitutional Council, Driss Jettou, President of the Court of Accounts, Nizar Baraka, President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council. His Majesty the King was likewise greeted by Mohamed Yssef, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Ulema, Driss El Yazami, President of the National Human Rights Council and President of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad, Abdelaziz Benzakour, Ombudsman of the Kingdom, Amina Lamrini Ouehabi, President of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication, Abdelali Benamour, President of the Competition Council, Abdessalam Abouderar, President of the Central Instance for the Prevention of Corruption, and Khalihenna Ould Errachid, President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs. The Sovereign was then greeted by General of the Army Corps Bouchaib Arroub, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces, Commander of the Southern Zone, General of the Army Corps Hosni Benslimane, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, Division General Ahmed Boutaleb, Inspector of the Royal Air Forces, Vice-Admiral Mohamed Laghmari, Inspector of the Royal Navy, Brigadier General Lahcen Imjane, Inspector of the Auxiliary Forces (Southern Zone), Brigadier General Hassan Taik, Inspector of the Auxiliary Forces (Northern Zone), Colonel Major Mohamed Berrid, Chief of the Third Bureau, Mohamed Yassine Mansouri, Director General of Studies and Documentation, Bouchaib Rmail, Director General of National Security, Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of Territorial Surveillance, as well as by Mohamed Moussaoui, President of the Union of Mosques of France and Honorary President of the French Council of the Muslim Faith. The Sovereign was also greeted by Monsignor Vincent Lamdel, Archbishop of Rabat, Pastor Samuel Amedro, President of the Evangelical Church in Morocco, Maxim Massalitin, President of the Russian Orthodox Church, and Yossef Israel, Chief Rabbi of Casablanca. HM the King was also greeted by Felipe Gonzalez, former Spanish Head of Government. The Sovereign, on this occasion, decorated several Moroccan and foreign personalities with Royal Wissams. The Sovereign thus decorated with the Wissam Al Arch (Exceptional Class) Mr Abbas El Fassi el Fihri, former Head of Government, Abdelouahed Radi, former President of the House of Representatives and current President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Mustapha Benabdellah, Professor of Plastic Arts at the Royal College, and Mohamed El Mestassi, Mission Officer at the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery. HM the King also decorated with the Wissam Al Arch of the second class (Commander), Mr Mohamed Bennouna, Judge at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, and with the Wissam Alaoui of the second class (Commander), Mrs Irina Bokova, Director General of UNESCO, Mr Mohamed "Mo" Ibrahim, businessman and entrepreneur, President of the "Mo Ibrahim Foundation for Good Governance in Africa", and Mr Mamadou Diana N'Daye, Advisor to the Senegalese President on strategic investments and member of the international economic union at Harvard University. Also decorated with the Wissam Al Kafaa Al Fikria were Mr Mohamed Chafik, member of the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco and former Rector of the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture, decoration presented to his son Abdeljaouad Chafik, Edgar Morin, great thinker, philosopher and humanist, Director of Research at the National Centre for Scientific Research in France, Abderrahim El Alam, writer, literary critic and President of the Union of Moroccan Writers, winner of the "Manhai 2013" International Prize in South Korea, Rachid Yazami, engineer, researcher and inventor in the field of "Lithium-Ion" battery technologies, winner of the 2014 Charles Stark Draper Prize from the National Academy of Engineering in Washington (USA), resident in Singapore, and Taha Abderrahmane, Moroccan writer and philosopher. Likewise, the Sovereign decorated with the Wissam Al Arch of the third class (Officer), Mr Michael Zaoui, financial expert for several international banking groups, who was also presented with the same Wissam on behalf of his brother, Yoel Zaoui, who could not be present, and Mr Mhamed Ben Abboud, expert and professor of history at Abdelmalek Essaadi University in Tetouan. Also decorated with the Wissam Alaoui of the third class (Officer) were Mr Pier Antonio Panzeri, member of the European Parliament and former President of the Commission for Relations with Maghreb Countries of the European Parliament, Robert Chastel, doctor and author of the book "Rabat: the destiny of a city and the whims of a river". HM the King then decorated with the Wissam Al Moukafaa Al Wathania of the 2nd class (Commander), Mr Abdelouahed Ismail, orthopaedic surgeon, and Mohamed Brini, journalist, and with the Wissam Al Moukafaa Al Wathania of the third class (Officer), Abderrahim Athmoune, President of the Morocco-EU Joint Parliamentary Commission, Anas El Arrass, researcher and designer of drones for military use at Seoul National University, holder of more than 30 patents of invention in the field of aviation, Ali Benmakhlouf, professor of Arab philosophy at the universities "Paris Est Créteil" and "Sciences-Po Paris" and member of the French National Committee for Medical Ethics, and Mrs Amina Seddiq, professor-doctor, researcher in the treatment of cancerous diseases at "Touro" University in Nevada (USA), Mrs Ismahane El Ouafi, Director General of the International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture in the United Arab Emirates, Mrs Houria Bennis, researcher in the history and philosophy of mathematics at the National Centre for Scientific Research in France, Mrs Leila El Alami, professor of creative writing at the University of California (USA), Mrs Souad El Mkhanat, Moroccan journalist residing in Germany, Mr Driss Benbrahim, Moroccan expert in the financial field, investor in London, Mr Abdelhamid El Jomri, President of the Committee on Migrant Workers and their Families at the United Nations, and Mr Hatim Bettioui, Moroccan journalist residing in London. Decorated with the Wissam Al Arch of the fourth class (Knight) were Mr Khalid Cheddadi, President of the Moroccan Pension Fund, Mrs Nadia Laraki, Director General of the National Ports Agency, Mrs Amine El Figuigui, Director General of the National Fisheries Office, and Mrs Habiba Laklalech, Deputy Director General of Royal Air Maroc. HM the King also decorated with the Wissam Al Moukafaa Al Wathania of the fourth class (Knight) Mr Fouad Benseddik, expert, member of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, Faiçal Marjani Smires, associative actor, expert for several international research centres, and with the Wissam Al Istihkak Al Wathani of the first class, Meryem Bourhil, Moroccan student residing in France who obtained an average of 21/20 in the 2014 baccalaureate exams. The Sovereign was greeted on this occasion by the student's parents, Mr Mohamed Bourhil and Mrs Nadia Talhaoui. The Sovereign also decorated with the same Wissam Yasmina Berraoui, a student with special needs from the city of Casablanca who obtained the Baccalaureate diploma with the mention "Quite Good". The Sovereign was greeted on this occasion by the student's mother, Mina Moumile. HM the King also decorated Houda Naybi, a student from Sidi Bernoussi (Casablanca) who obtained the Baccalaureate diploma with an average of 19.45. The Sovereign was greeted on this occasion by the student's mother, Amina Bouchikhi. Also decorated with the same Wissam was Sara Reddad, the student from Inzegane Ait Melloul who obtained the Baccalaureate diploma with an average of 19.35. The Sovereign was greeted on this occasion by the student's father, Ibrahim Reddad.
