His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir al-Mu'minin, performed the Friday prayer at the “Karrakchou” mosque in Rabat. In his sermon, the imam indicated that whoever contemplates the Quranic verses and the hadiths of the Prophet realises that the ultimate goal of the Islamic religion is the realisation of human happiness in this world and in the hereafter. He insisted on a great truth, namely that the use of faith for the concretisation of actions useful to the community depends on the assimilation of the true meaning of religion, a mission that falls to the ulema, attributing the poor understanding of the objectives of faith to, among other things, ignorance, temptations and covetousness. Believers must realise that Islam provides bliss, peace of mind, inner peace and happiness in life and after death, adding that the religiosity of a given society is effective to the extent that the community moves away from deviations, troubles, and tearing apart and that peace and security prevail, two objectives towards the concretisation of which all humanity aspires.

The imam invited the faithful for this purpose to refrain from any action proscribed by faith or prejudicial to one's neighbour in any way whatsoever, in accordance with the hadith of the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon him, saying that “the true Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the faithful are safe”. Having reached this stage of faith, the believer could then fill his heart with love for his neighbour. He made the distinction between the true accomplishment of faith by the faithful and behaviours that are at the antipodes of what the practices of believers should be, noting that religion hardly recommends attaching oneself to form at the expense of substance, as affirmed by the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon him: “Allah does not judge you according to your body and your appearances, but He looks rather at your hearts and your works”. If we want our children to practice the teachings of our holy religion far from all extremism and all shortcomings, we must instil in them the foundations of true faith and recommend that they worship the Most High as much as possible and according to their possibilities, as advocated by the last messenger of God, he recommended. He indicated that the fundamental mission that falls to the Ulema, educators and preachers consists of feeding the resources of faith, consolidating the feeling of faith in the hearts of the rising generations, borrowing in this the path of moderation and the middle ground so that these generations are protected against destructive intellectual currents and practices without link to the holy religion.

At the end of his sermon, the imam implored the Almighty to grant support and assistance to H.M. the King, Amir Al-Mu'minin, protector of the cult and religion, to preserve the Sovereign as a source of benefits for the Ummah and to fill him in the persons of H.R.H. Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, H.R.H. Prince Moulay Rachid and all the members of the illustrious Royal Family. The imam also raised prayers to the Most High to surround with His holy mercy the late H.M. Hassan II and the late H.M. Mohammed V and to welcome them into His paradise among the Prophets, the saints and the virtuous.
