The Atlas lion will regain its reign: Birth of three lion cubs at the National Zoological Garden

An Atlas lioness gives birth to three cubs. The three cubs and their mother are doing well and are under veterinary supervision for their health monitoring and vaccination. With these new births, the NZG now has 27 Atlas lions. It houses the largest captive population in the world of this species, which is emblematic of the Middle Atlas ecosystem, and supplies other zoos around the world as part of wild species exchange operations. In this capacity, it ensures the monitoring of breeding programmes aimed at the conservation and improvement of the species.
