The Ziri Ibn Attia square in Oujda hosted, on Friday, the 5th edition of the Science Festival organised by the Omar Ibn Abdelaziz Foundation under the theme "Sciences, wealth and diversity".

This scientific event, organised under the High Patronage of H.M. King Mohammed VI, in partnership with the Oriental Development Agency, is an opportunity for pupils and students of the region to enrich their knowledge and lead a series of scientific and artistic workshops and activities.

The Festival contains a space for children composed of 28 workshops dealing with different scientific themes, a general public space consisting of 21 workshops, in addition to a scientific salon which constitutes a space for debate and exchange of expertise on the different scientific disciplines.

The member of the organising committee of this event, Jamal Yousfi, stressed in a statement to the MAP that this edition is that of openness par excellence, as much on the different scientific subjects, as on the actors of society at the national and international level.

He also noted that this year is marked by the participation of an American delegation, guests from other regions of the Kingdom such as the "Al Falak" Association of Rabat and the clubs of Al Akhawayn University, in addition to local associations.

The Children's space also sees the participation of university associations, notably the preparatory classes of the National School of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, he said, noting that the closing ceremony will be marked by the distribution of the prize for the best science simplification workshop to one of the 11 competing schools.

A surprise was prepared for children curious to pierce the mysteries of space, namely a prototype of the universe accompanied by simplified explanations on the different aspects of astrology.

On the menu of this event are also magic tricks, plays, as well as music shows.
