1,300 women and 800 children benefit from a medical caravan

More than 1,300 women and 800 children benefited from the "Mother-Child" medical caravan organised, recently in the province of Midelt, at the initiative of the Association of Private Gynaecologists (AGP).

Organised in coordination with the provincial health delegation, this caravan travelled from May 10 to 12 through the main cities and rural communes of the province, according to the organisers.

A medical staff composed of 24 specialists, including 14 gynaecologists, 4 paediatricians, 2 anatomopathologists, 2 anaesthetists, and 2 doctors representing a private laboratory, was mobilised with the aim of guaranteeing the success of this social action.

Thus, some 1,325 women in the cities of Midelt (357), Rich (147), and the rural communes of Tounfite (179), Itzer (179), Boumia (146), Zaida (170), and Amersid (147) benefited from consultations and ultrasounds for cancer screening, notably breast and uterine cancer, stresses the same source, noting that 12 surgical interventions were performed by the medical team during this caravan.

The children, for their part, benefited from consultations carried out by the paediatricians, according to the same source, which notes that medicines were also distributed to the beneficiaries.

Through this campaign, the organisers aim to contribute to the efforts aimed at bringing medical services closer to citizens and to help needy populations in the region.

The "Mother-Child" medical caravan was a great success with the beneficiaries who hope to see this type of initiative multiply for the benefit of the needy populations of the region, according to the same source.
