The Fez-Meknes Regional Council is organising, from January 31 to February 7 in Meknes, the 4th edition of the Regional Fair for Products of the Social and Solidarity Economy.
This event, organised under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, aims to consolidate the achievements made during the previous three editions and to highlight the new dynamic of products from this sector, its noble values, and its humanitarian objectives.
According to a statement from the organisers, this event, held in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, also aims to strengthen the production and marketing capacities of stakeholders in the sector, to help cooperatives access the ONSSA sanitary safety certification system, and to foster the emergence of regional competitiveness clusters capable of creating added value and offering new employment opportunities.
This fair, organised in accordance with the objectives of the 2022-2027 Regional Development Programme, will be held over an area of 5,000 m² and will include exhibition, training, and entertainment stands, reports MAP.
It consists of several poles, the most important of which is the exhibitors' pole, comprising 160 stands with the participation of 320 exhibitors representing the different prefectures and provinces of the region, as well as other regions of the Kingdom.
It also includes the international pole, marked by the participation of Arab and foreign countries that have cooperation relations with the Fez-Meknes region, including China, France, Bahrain, and Jordan.
The fair will also feature the participation of Senegal, with the presence of governmental and non-governmental institutions and organisations active in the marketing and promotion of products from the social and solidarity economy.
As for the financial and institutional support pole, it offers opportunities for the exchange of experiences and expertise for institutions working in the field of financial and technical support, for the benefit of social and solidarity economy organisations, with a view to providing them with support and accompaniment at regional and national levels.
This fair will be marked by the organisation of the second edition of the Caftan ceremony (Caftan Fès-Meknès), in order to highlight the know-how and creativity of artisans and exhibitors from the Fez-Meknes region.
