The Chamber of Crafts in the Fès-Meknès region, during its last ordinary session, approved a partnership agreement aimed at supporting the environmental improvement of traditional lime and pottery kilns.
This project, with a total budget of 108.6 million dirhams, is part of the sixth strategic axis of the Regional Development Programme, dedicated to protecting natural and ecological resources in the face of climate change.
The main objective of this initiative is to combat air pollution generated by the lime and pottery sectors, and to ensure the continued environmental rehabilitation of the region's traditional businesses.
.According to the terms of the agreement, the financing of this agreement will be carried out in cooperation between several institutional stakeholders, notably the Fès-Meknès Regional Council, which will contribute a total of 29 million dirhams, while the contribution of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development will amount to 79.6 million dirhams.
For their part, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, the Wilaya of the Fès-Meknès region, the province of Ifrane, and the Deposit and Consignment Fund for Development are parties to this project.
