The city of Meknes hosted the National School Cross-Country Championship for the 2024/2025 school year, which took place on the occasion of the celebration of the Green March and Independence Day, and within the framework of implementing the provisions of Framework Law 51.17, especially Project 11 related to the promotion of school sports.
This sporting event was held under the slogan "School sport for successful and open-minded students", organized jointly by the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, and the Royal Moroccan School Sports Federation, in coordination with the Regional Academy of Education and Training for the Fez-Meknes region and the Provincial Directorate in Meknes.
The championship saw the participation of more than 1,400 male and female competitors from various regions of the Kingdom, who were selected after regional qualifiers. The event was attended by prominent figures, including the Delegate President of the Royal Moroccan School Sports Federation, Abdeslam Mili, the Director of the Fez-Meknes Academy, Mohsen Zouak, and the Secretary General of the Meknes Prefecture, Ahmed Saber, in addition to other educational and sports figures.
The championship was characterized by professional organization thanks to the efforts of the organizing and arbitration committees that oversaw the progress of the competitions in a precise manner. The events included artistic and folkloric performances that added a festive character to the atmosphere.
The event concluded with the crowning of the winners in a festive atmosphere, where medals, cups and certificates of appreciation were presented, with a special tribute to the Secretary General of the Meknes Prefecture in recognition of the role of the provincial and security authorities in the success of the event.
This championship represents a prominent milestone for promoting school sports as a field for comprehensive development, and an occasion to celebrate national and sports values among the rising generations.
