Flash inspection at the Meknes Academy and subsequent investigation

Flash inspection at the Meknes Academy and subsequent investigation

A flash inspection at the Meknes-Tafilalet Academy which leads to several unanswered questions. Announced through an official statement from the Ministry of National Education, the said inspection aims to carry out a financial and administrative audit. This suggests that several control operations will be carried out and that the commission would be composed of specialists supposed to look into the files of the various departments of the Meknes-Tafilalet Academy during the period when it was managed by the former director, Mr. Aderdour, who currently presides over the destinies of the Academy of the capital. According to sources on the spot, we are facing several irregularities both on the administrative and financial levels. On the side of the supervisory ministry, we were assured that the inspector general is on site with his teams and will only return after having accomplished his mission. Persistent rumours are circulating within the Academy about the famous sale at a derisory price of a villa for the benefit of the former director and irregularities that would have been committed by the procurement department, whose boss was recently dismissed, and the granting of official housing and exorbitant bonuses based on the principles of cronyism and favouritism. Also cited are the misuse of service cars and the inequitable distribution of baccalaureate examination allowances.

Is it for these reasons that the Ministry of National Education has ordered its current investigation? Will this determine all responsibilities in the matter? Will it attack all those who have contributed, little or much, to these alleged irregularities or covered them up? So many questions to which one will not be able to have answers without knowing the results of the investigation. It remains the case that the object of the inspection mission does not seem to be able to allow it to get to the bottom of things. Indeed, all the incriminated facts were submitted, studied, and approved by the Academy's Board of Directors which, as everyone knows, is chaired by the Minister of National Education. The latter, it is recalled, is the only one authorised to approve the Board's decisions and in particular the Academy's budget and to give them an enforceable character.

But one must wonder why the said director, whose exercise is the subject of an inspection ordered by Mohamed El Ouafa, was recently promoted to director of the Academy of the Kingdom's capital.
